Case Study: Twinky Cakes Website
We love sharing our clients’ businesses through our design work for them!
This week we want to share Twinky Cakes! Hilda, the founder, came to us through a referral looking for a website design that took inspiration from her branding and prepared her for more wedding and vendor opportunities with her beautiful craft: Cake Decorations.
Initially we applied her brand colors, but it echoed too much of her children cake decorations and felt out of place for setting the stage for vendor opportunities at weddings and other adult celebrations. With that in mind we darkened the brand colors to give it more formality while still keeping in her color scheme. This can be a really tricky line to cross depending on each client, but we feel that this adjustment made her transition much smoother and cohesive with her goal and mission.
The galleries for customers to reference the variety of designs she can do is completely mobile friendly! Visitors to her site from Instagram will have no trouble navigating to her gallery and placing an order, which means more opportunities to convert visitors into customers from her website!
Reflecting on the Design Process
A month after designing and launching Hilda's website Cheyenne received a text message saying that our work has made the ordering process not only improve but increase for her business.
Months later she left this review on our company's Google My Business Profile and we can honestly say that putting people's brand and skillset at the forefront of website design has continuously given our client's the best experience possible.
It's one thing to make a beautiful design and share some simple how-to trainings. It's another thing to keep in mind the client's overall growth expectations and their skillset. Sometimes people don't want to learn something new like managing their website, other times they struggle to learn and keep up with updates— there will always be unique circumstances that a client faces. This is why we choose to approach each project with a focus on the set up of our design work and the aftercare for the client to really take what we've made and continue growing it. Cheers to happy clients! 🥂
The Takeaway
We’re very pleased with the ease of access of the site that enables her customers to lean into celebrating their special moments with Twinky Cakes! We feel there’s probably room to grow as she continues to grow her brand and clientele, for example starting a blog with her past cake designs and special notes that add an extra personal touch to let clients know they’re being heard and celebrated with Hilda’s attention to detail. Yet, that’s the case with all projects: development is key for your brand’s future!
So, tell us: Have you kept to your brand colors or do you use variations as needed?
