What is a Marketing Campaign
What is a Marketing Campaign?
An organized course of action as it pertains to a specific effort (for example a product release or event).
To carry out your first marketing campaign, determine your overall goal and strategize content to publish on your marketing channels. Include variations of graphics and copywriting, this is also the best time to perform AB tests!
You’ll also want to determine your timeline and aftercare for the campaign that will engage and grow your relationship with your target audience.
How do you make a marketing campaign?
Start with your goal and work down from there. If your goal is to gain email subscribers, then you will:
Give yourself a timeline,
Decide which platforms you will create content for,
Decide how often you will post content to those platforms,
Create and schedule the content, and
Create aftercare activity (in this case a Welcome Email Series)
Pro-tip: Add in activities or deadlines to your calendar so you don't miss them!
What assets do you need?
Ideally, to maximize efficiency and effectiveness of your campaign, you will have created and prepared the following assets to utilize:
1-3 Product images: These photos should be clear, fairly close-cropped shots of the object of your campaign with very little background so as not to cause distractions. In keeping with the example of an email campaign, your “product image” would be a graphic including your logo or aspects of your newsletter’s design.
4-6 Lifestyle images: Images depicting your product or the object of your campaign being utilized in your ideal clients’ day-to-day, or images depicting the way you want your campaign to make potential clients feel. For an email campaign, a lifestyle image could include a person scrolling through their email with their morning tea.
2-4 Graphics: Graphics are usually informative, combining text and design, and can be used to detail how the object of your campaign can be used, its benefits, what clients can expect, display reviews or client feedback, or act as a way to encourage engagement.
2-4 Videos: These should be a mixture of more broad lifestyle videos, creating a mood and motivation to engage with or purchase the object of your campaign, as well as product or object-detailed videos.
